Leonard E. Wright

Leonard E. Wright Sr., 87, of Oshkosh, died Thursday December 18, 2008 at his residence. He was born July 17, 1921 in Hiles, Wi. a son of Edward and Clara Hoppe Wright. He married Dorothy Schultz on February 21, 1959 in Oshkosh.He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in WWII. He had worked at Rockwell International for 30 years until his retirement in 1978, and enjoyed playing cribbage at the Oshkosh Rec. Department, gardening, watching birds and wildlife, collecting salt and pepper shakers and dancing the Polka.He is survived by his wife Dorothy of Oshkosh, six sons Leonard E. Wright Jr., of Oshkosh, Larry(Doris) Wright of Omro, Tom(Deloris) Wright of Omro, Mike Wright of Appleton, Ted Wright of LaCrosse, Eric Wright of Oshkosh, four daughters Penny Clark of Kimberly, Gwen(David) Helmer of Oshkosh, Jill OBright of Oshkosh, Cindy(John) Duchatschek of Oshkosh, 25 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, two sisters Ruth Beusch of Fond du Lac, Erma Oesterrich of Oshkosh, one sister-in-law Gloria Widner.He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Marceda, mother and father in law Irene and Ervin Schultz, one sister Norma Tileman, one brother Robert Wright, two brothers-in-law Earl Beusch, Les Widner, and one sister-in-law Ruth Wright.Funeral services will be held on Monday December 22, 2008 at noon at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside with Chaplain Daniel Edwards officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park where military honors will be conducted.The family would like to thank the staff at Affinity Hospice especially Pat Fetter, Lori Hadl and Chaplain Dan.
