Lois Mae Schmuhl

Lois Mae Lou Schmuhl, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Century Oaks Nancy Grace House in Oshkosh. She was born on July 19, 1936 in Seymour to Harold and Ann (Winters) Hauser. She was married to the love of her life, Doug Schmuhl on April 14, 1956 in Appleton. They moved to Oshkosh in 1965. Lou graduated from Appleton West in 1954. After school she was employed by Langstadt Electric. In her later years, she was employed by Miles Kimball. Lou enjoyed being the historian for Calvary Lutheran Church, of which she and her husband were charter members. Lou also loved scrap booking, playing piano, going to the casino, vacationing, golfing, bowling, and playing card games with her grandchildren.Lou was a compassionate woman. She had many ways of showing her kindness, one of which was the sending of timely cards and letters. Lou was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.Lois is survived by her husband, Doug; daughters, Kris (Doug) Siewert and Kim (Darrell) Lubenow; son, Steve (Sari) Schmuhl; grandchildren, Ashley and Courtney Schmuhl, Aiden and Charli Young, Cory (Janet) Zedler and Matthew Zedler, Nicholas Lubenow, Lauren (Scott) Ewertz, and Adrienne Siewert; great-grandchild, Avery; brothers, Donald and Carl Hauser; and sister, Carol Losse. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ann; brother, David; and sisters, Joyce Sonkowsky and Delores Schreiter.A memorial service for Lou will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Calvary Lutheran Church (2580 W 9th Ave.) with Pastor Tim Routh officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. She will be inurned at Lake View Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice, Century Oaks Nancy Grace House, and Lakeland Care District for all their special care.
