Lorraine M. Benner Freiberg of Oshkosh, loving and faithful servant of her Lord, lived 90 active years and passed away peacefully February 9, 2016, after a short illness. She was born at home April 16, 1925 in Oshkosh, the daughter of the late Mary K. (Paffenroth) and Conrad Benner, both of whom were Volga Deutsch immigrants from Jagodnaja Poljana, Saratov, Russia. She was a lifelong and devoted member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she served on the Ladies and Altar Guilds. Lorraine spent 19 wonderful years married to her true love, Edward Pud Freiberg. After retirement, they moved to their cottage near Crivitz and enjoyed the northwoods and their four beloved German Shepherds. After Ed passed away, she moved back to Oshkosh and became an avid line dancer with the Oshkosh Senior Center and for many years volunteered at EAA AirVenture.
