Marianne Busse

Marianne Busse, age 88, went home to heaven surrounded by her family on Sunday, December 18, 2022. She was born to the late Arthur and Margaret (Krause) Mueller on April 27, 1934, in Oshkosh, WI. Marianne graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a bachelor degree. She married Walter E. Busse and together they had three children.

She loved weekend camping trips with family and friends. Traveling in the US and abroad with her dear husband Walt. She was a docent at the Paine Art Center, volunteered at Lutherans for Life counseling center, and participated in spring bird counts. She enjoyed her gardens, wildflowers, native plants, birds, Spotted Cow, and a good bottle of Scotch.

Marianne is survived by her two sons, Erich (Amy) and Paul (Linda) Busse; daughter, Martha Busse; grandchildren, Krista (Luke) Simonson, Aaron Busse, Claudia (Charlie) Beck, Anna (Jordan) Loehr, Will (Kasey) Busse, Sam Busse, Josh (Rachael) Ricci, and Nicole Ricci; great grandchildren, Arthur, Elliot, Atticus, Owen, Brayden, Alyse, Hannah, Bentley, Piper, and one great grandchild on the way. Marianne is further survived by her sister, Peg Harthun; and brother-in-law, Al Vandenberg.

In addition to her parents Marianne was preceded in death by her husband Walter; sister, Kathy Vandenberg; and her sister and brother-in-law Doloros (John) Bangs and Richard Harthun.

A service for Marianne will be held at Martin Luther Ev. Lutheran Church (1526 Algoma Blvd) on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 11 AM. Rev. Tom Voss will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service. A burial will take place at Lake View Memorial Park following the service.

 In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Oshkosh WLA Bus Fund or Martin Luther Church/School.
