Marie Helen Greffer

Marie H. Greffer, age 72 of Omro, died at Mercy Medical Center on Saturday, January 16, 2010. She was born in Madison WI. on December 27, 1937, a daughter of the late Frank and Florence Benisch Wohletz. Marie married Frank J. Greffer on Oct. 22, 1977 in Oshkosh. Frank preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1996.Marie had been employed at Winnebago Mental Health Institution for 35 years, and also drove school bus during that time. She loved her nieces, great nieces and nephew. She was an avid Packer fan, and enjoyed riding her motorcycle, deer hunting, fishing, league bowling, cribbage, shooting darts and gardening. Marie had a love for animals, owning Dobermans and Chihuahuas for many years. She was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament- St Peter site.Survivors include on sister, Karen Garrison, Oshkosh; two nieces, Susan (Scott) Fink, Oshkosh and Paula (John) Lampe, Omro; 8 great nieces and nephew, Hannah, Elizabeth, Samantha, Sara, Hunter, Haley, Aerriel and Jazmin; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, and her parents.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Most Blessed Sacrament, St. Peter site (435 High Ave,) beginning at 11:00 AM. Family and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 AM to the time of Mass. Internment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. A memorial has been established.Special thanks to the staff at Mercy Medical Center, especially Margaret and Mary in I.C.U. and to Dr. Ahmad and Dr. Gremminger for the care and support given to Marie and her family.
