Marilyn A. Burton

Marilyn A. Burton, age 76, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Tender Hearts Assisted Living in Howard, WI; located just outside of Green Bay.She was born on March 18, 1938 in Marathon, WI; the daughter of the late Carl and Mary (Peters) Gauger Frank. She graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1956 and served an apprenticeship at a local beauty parlor. She was united in marriage on September 19, 1959 to Lathan Burt Burton at Grace Lutheran church in Oshkosh. Marilyn worked in and later was the Manager of the Beauty Shop at Evergreen Manor for 25 years retiring in 2000.Marilyn enjoyed her friends and family, especially her Granddaughter, Cassandra, who was the lilo of her life. She liked reading, walks on the Burton Family Tree Farm, old movies, and bird watching. She was also known for her kindness, generosity, and compassion. Burt and Marilyn enjoyed their travels to Arizona for the winter after she retired with their last trip coming during the winter of 2012.She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Burt, one daughter, Lori (Mike) Bertolini of Green Bay, one granddaughter, Cassandra Bertolini, one brother, Joe (Becky) Frank of Oshkosh and one sister, Sharon Wood of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Also, she is survived by nieces and nephews who love her dearly. She is preceded in death by one son, Cary Burton, two brothers, Carlyle Gauger and Ralph Gauger, one sister, Joyce (Neil) Marsh, one-brother-in-law, Robert Wood, one sister-in-law, Shirley (Bob) Mainwaring, step-father, Joe Frank Sr., and parents-in-law, Lester & Nina Burton.Memorial service will be at 12 pm on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2580 W 9th Ave, with Pastor Timothy W. Routh officiating. Friends and family may visit at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service at noon. Inurnment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park at a later date.Special thanks to Joe Frank, Brother, who was always there, even on the spur of the moment. Thanks to all who visited or kept us in their thoughts and prayers. Also, thanks to the staffs at Tender Hearts, Howard; and Unity Hospice for all the great care on Moms final days.
