Marilyn Rose Loberg

February 24, 1929 — August 28, 2010

Marilyn R. Loberg, 81, of Oshkosh, peacefully went to heaven to be with Jesus after a lengthy battle with rheumatoid arthritis on Saturday August 28, 2010, at Lakeshore Manor in Oshkosh surrounded by loving family. Marilyn was born in Nelsonville, WI on February 24, 1929 to the late Daniel and Marilla (Loberg) Bobbe. On June 2, 1951 she married Merlin Loberg at Nelsonville Lutheran Church in Nelsonville, WI. Marilyn graduated from Amherst High School, and went on to the University of Stevens Point graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics. Marilyn taught Home Economics for a year at Weyauwega High School; three years at Winneconne High School and was the Home Economics Coordinator at Fox Valley Technical College for 35 years. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church. Marilyn enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, playing cards, biking, crafts, flower gardening, planting trees, and watching Packer games. She loved cooking and sewing. She enjoyed the outdoors, watching wildlife, and spending time at Explosion Lake in Townsend, WI and the cabin at the family tree farm in Amherst, WI. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Merlin Loberg of Oshkosh; daughter, Susan (Pat) Loberg-Aulwes of Greenville, WI and their children, Britta and Johan Aulwes; sons, Bruce (Cindy) Loberg of Neenah, and their daughter, Ashley Loberg and special friend, Dan; David (Kathy) Loberg of Berthoud, CO and their daughters, Sarah, Amy, Lindsey, and Megan; brother, Donald (Marjorie) Bobbe of Milwaukee; sister, Kathryn Wondzell of Wisconsin Rapids; sister/in/law, Lynette (George) Emery of Wisconsin Rapids, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Cole Loberg; brothers/in/law, Clair Wondzell and Lowell Loberg. Her funeral and celebration of eternal life will be held Friday September 3, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. at First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh with Reverend Martin Ruge officiating. Burial will be at the Nelsonville Lutheran Cemetery, Nelsonville, WI at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 4. Family and friends may call at the church on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations will go to the Marilyn Loberg Scholarship Fund at Fox Valley Technical College, and to the Arthritis Foundation.Marilyn's family would like to give special thanks to the Heartland Hospice staff and to the staff at Lakeshore Manor for their support and loving care while Marilyn was there.For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
