Marion Gnagi, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, in Oshkosh. Marion was born in Oshkosh on January 5, 1911. Her parents were Gustave and Clara Albrecht. She had one brother, Clarence (Eny) Albrecht who is deceased. Marion attended Oshkosh Normal School, where she met her husband-to-be Peter Gnagi. Peter relocated to Hollywood, California before their marriage, Marion soon followed and they were married there on September 8, 1934. They spent most of their forty-five years together in the Pasadena, California area where they raised two sons, Stephen Gnagi, now of Oshkosh, and Richard Gnagi, of Payson, Arizona. Also surviving are daughters-in-law Jacqueline Gnagi, and Deborah Gnagi, and grandchildren Jeffrey (Chris) Gnagi, Will (Katie) Gnagi, And Chrys (Laddie) Fromelius. There are also three great-grandchildren, Stephen and Joseph Gnagi, and Trey Fromelius. Her husband Peter preceded her in death in 1980.Marion was an extraordinary homemaker all her life. She was known for keeping an immaculate home and grounds, but mostly for her gourmet cooking. She loved hosting wonderful dinner parties that will remain in the memories of all those who attended. Marion earned immense admiration from all for the unwavering devotion and effort she gave in caring for Peter in the five years preceding his passing. Marion continued to live in California until moving back to Oshkosh in 1998. Her final years were enriched by being near to family, and companionship of her longtime friend Charlotte Wells, and sister-in-law Janice Albrecht.A private memorial service is planned.
