Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Casper

April 23, 1954 — October 7, 2022

Wife, stepmother, sister, and faithful friend, died on October 7, 2022 after a recurring illness.


Liz most recently lived and worked in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. In addition to James C. Peterson her husband and beloved best

friend of 35 years, she is survived by her stepson Landen J. Peterson, her sister Helen Moshak of Colorado, her brother David (Deb) Casper, nieces Helen (Scott Baskerville) Moshak, Jenny (Chris Hofmann) Moshak, Damian (Joni) Moshak, Elizabeth Francis-Powers, Edward (Laura) Powers, and Michael Casper (Tiffany Voigt).


After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Liz worked in the fields of mental health and substance abuse in a variety of settings. She retired, after 20 years, from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, Liz has been a lifelong volunteer in the area of human services. She was known for her kindness, her generosity of Spirit and her ability to reach out and encourage others.


Liz often said she felt a deep connection to the lakes, oceans and its wildlife. She loved the outdoors and many outdoor activities including hiking, camping, snow shoeing, skiing and many activities having to do with water. She especially loved spending time at the oceans and the Great Lakes. She also loved visiting art museums, attending concerts and plays and traveling.


A memorial service for Liz will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. with Ch. Kim Krogstad officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.


In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
