Mary Ellen Henning

Mary Ellen Henning, 81, of Oshkosh, died on Friday May 21, 2010 at Northpoint Medical Center. She was born on March 25, 1929 in Long Lake, Wisconsin a daughter of Lester and Myrtle Egen Hodgson.She was an elementary school teacher at Dale, Webster Stanley and South Park Schools and a guidance counselor at Oshkosh West High School. She loved music, playing piano, and reading. She volunteered at the Oshkosh Humane Society and served the Lord her entire life.She is survived by two sons, Christian Henning of Folly Beach, S.C., Jeffrey John(Gail) Henning of Waukesha, one daughter Ellen(Thomas) Dow of High Point, N.C., one brother Lyle(Frances) Hodgson of Long Lake, Wi., 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and her beloved cat Nick.She was preceded in death by one son J. Robert Henning in 1999.Private family services will be held.A memorial has been established to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society.
