Mary Ellen Nintzel, 81, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin died on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mary Ellen was born on July 16, 1931 in Oshkosh the daughter of George Sebastian and Ethel Irene Hunt Ostertag. She married Sidney William Nintzel on May 6, 1950 in Oshkosh. Sid preceded her in death on February 11, 2012.Mary Ellen was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Peters Catholic Church. She was a 1949 Oshkosh High School graduate and worked at the American Red Cross and at the Oshkosh Public Library for many years. She gave piano lessons and was a classical pianist. She loved to listen to classical music. She was a seamstress and made beautiful gowns; she also enjoyed knitting and volunteered at Mercy Medical Center by making hats and booties for the newborns. Most of all Mary Ellen enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a loving mother who cherished her family and was a great inspiration to all. Survivors include her children, Susan (Robert) Komarinetz of Vero Beach, FL, Jane (Joseph) Roloff of Oshkosh, Thomas N. (Jane) Nintzel of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Jessica (Joshua) Glass of West Bend, Jennifer Roloff of Oshkosh, Jacquelyn Roloff of Milwaukee, Michael Nintzel of Oshkosh; one sister-in-law Mary Ostertag, and many nieces and nephews.Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, George and Robert Ostertag, and her sister, Mary Sonnleitner.A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Peters Catholic Church (435 High Ave., Oshkosh) with the Rev. James Jugenheimer officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery.In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established at St. Peters Catholic Church.
