Mary Ellen Regan

Mary Ellen Regan, 85, of Oshkosh died Thursday January 10, 2013, at Park View Health Center. She was born April 16, 1927 in Milwaukee to the late James and Ellen Regan. Mary Ellen lived in Milwaukee for many years where she was employed at the IRS Office and was active in the Florentine Opera Company and Music Under the Stars group. She moved to Oshkosh in 1989 where she was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, their Senior Choir and Bell Choir. She was also in the Oshkosh Choraliers and on their board, the Musicale Productions, performed with the Friends of the Opera, and sang with the Green Lake Festival of Music. She also enjoyed reading and being with her Siamese cat, My Tai. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; her good friend, Phyllis Jensen; Phyllis son-in-law, Richard Shew; and a grandson, Michael R. Shew. When Mary Ellens parents died Phyllis family became her own and they gained a loving grandmother and great-grandmother in Mary Ellen. She is survived by Barbara Shew; grandchildren, Timothy J. Shew, Kathleen A. Grap (Jay Pamperin), and Sarah J. Shew; great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Scott Feuerhammer, Ramon Stiller, Savanna Stiller (Devin Baker), Serena Grap, Valarie Grap, Branden Boegh, and Ashley Boegh. Besides family she is also survived by many very dear friends from Lakefront Manor, Oshkosh Choraliers, Christ Lutheran Church, the IRS Milwaukee office, and the Florentine Opera Co. A memorial service for Mary Ellen will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Rev. Jen Czarnota officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday at the church from 4:00 p.m. until the service. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are being established to Christ Lutheran Church, the Oshkosh Choraliers, and the Oshkosh Area Humane Society. A special thank you is extended to Dr. Weber and the staff at the Wound Center and the nurses and staff at Park View Health Center for the wonderful care they gave Mary Ellen.
