Mary Isabel Drager Laatsch

October 18, 1920 — May 30, 2012

Mary I. (Keohane) Drager Laatsch of Oshkosh, WI, age 91, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Evergreen Retirement Community, Creekview North. She was born October 18, 1920 in Antigo, WI, the daughter of James & Katherine (Brennan) Keohane. She married Erwin A. Drager in 1940. He preceded her in death. In 1967 she married Raymond M. Laatsch in Waukegan, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 30, 2005. They had 38 wonderful years together. She attended high school in Wautoma and attended Waushara County Normal for two years. She also attended Oshkosh State Teachers College and received her B.S. degree in 1964. Mary taught for 17 years at St. Vincents school from 1955 to 1972. She also played Senior Darts at Sacred Heart church and participated in the Senior Center activities at First English Lutheran Church which included singing in the Senior Center choir and performing in church plays. Mary liked working on crafts, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles and collecting Betty Boop memorabilia. She also enjoyed crocheting doilies and afghans for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with all her loving family and will be dearly missed.Survivors include her four children, Erwin Michael Drager, Patricia Penzenstadler, Judith (Bob) Stueber, and Steven (Barb) Drager, all of Oshkosh, nine grandchildren, Richard (Laurie) Penzenstadler of Centennial, Colorado, Kristine (John) Kubasta of Butte des Morts, Wisconsin, Kathleen (Sam) Ford of Mundelein, Illinois, Rob (Pam) Stueber of Oshkosh, Timothy (Christy) Stueber of Oshkosh, Bill (Rhonda) Stueber of Oviedo, Florida, Debra (Mitch) Ward of Meriden, Connecticut, Andrew (Jessica) Drager of Eugene, Oregon and Bryan (fiance Stephanie) Drager of Oshkosh, fourteen great grandchildren, Rachel & Danny Penzenstadler, Kathryn, Luke & Leah Kubasta, Kaitlin & Ben Ford, Haley Stueber, Jace, Mark & Jack Stueber, Keanan, Phoenix, & Willow Drager, her nephew James (Nancy) Keohane of St. Peters, Missouri, & one niece, Elaine (Bill) Schroeder of Hawaii. She is also survived by a stepson in-law, and six step-grandchildren.Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, two brothers, Walter & Emmett Keohane, two stepdaughters. Nancy Larson and Jacqueline Pfalzgraf, son-in-law Charles Penzenstadler, one niece, Kathleen Kay, Hawaii and a great granddaughter, Madeline Tirado Ward. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at St. Jude the Apostle (St. Vincent Church) 216 W. South Park Avenue, Oshkosh with Fr. Bill Van De Kreeke officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Nepeuskun Cemetery.We wish to thank all the staff at Evergreen Retirement Community for the wonderful care they gave Mom these past few years, especially the staff at Creekview North. Thanks also to Generations Home & Hospice Care of Fond du Lac for the wonderful care they gave Mom her last few weeks
