Mary K. Hitz age 69 of Oshkosh, died at Mercy Medical Center on Friday, August 31, 2012. Mary was born in Oshkosh on August 24, 1943, a daughter of the late Francis X. and Mary Harrand Ratschmann. Mary and Richard Hitz were united in marriage on March 14, 1964 in Oshkosh.Mary was a 1961 graduate of Oshkosh High School and a graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and became a registered nurse working at Mercy Medical Center. Later she was an industrial nurse for Rockwell International and was a school crossing guard. Mary was a member of First English Lutheran Church and enjoyed her children and grandchildren, crafts, sewing with wool, traveling and antiquing and volunteered as a 4H nurse.Survivors include her husband, Richard Hitz of Oshkosh; one son, David (Ronda) Hitz of Oshkosh; one daughter, Rebecca (Andrew) Scoville, of Appleton; a daughter-in-law, Sherry (fianc Daniel Fischer) Hitz, of Oshkosh; one sister, Sheila Blechl of Oshkosh and four grandchildren, Johnathon, Kira, Reis and Lauren Hitz, all of Oshkosh. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Daniel Hitz.Funeral services will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside on Wednesday September 5, 2012 at 5:00 pm with Rev. Tim Greenwald officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday September 5, 2012, from 2:00 pm to the time of service. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park.A memorial has been established to Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology.Thanks to Dr. Klinkhammer and his staff, Robin, and the PCU1 staff at Mercy Medical Center for the compassionate care given to Mary.
