Mary Louise Mueller

Mary (Hintze) Mueller, age 83, of Oshkosh, formerly of Neshkoro, WI and New Berlin, WI. passed away Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh.Mary was born in Wausau, WI to the late C. Arden Hintze and Martha (Grosskopf) Hintze. Mary was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Bob (1921-2004) and an infant sister Edith Ann.Mary is survived by her children, James (special friend, Sue Hoffman) of Chilton, three daughters, Karen (Ted) Bowen of Oshkosh, Liz Klem of Brown Deer, and Chris (Bruce) Jovaag of Fond du Lac; grandchildren Dylan (fianc Michelle), and Jenny Mueller of Manitowoc, Beth Mueller of Milwaukee, Ed and Ann Bowen of Oshkosh, and Amelia (Dan) Osterud of Milwaukee; and great grandchildren, Brogan and Autumn Mueller. She is also survived by her brother Charles (Marion) Hintze of Woodruff and sister Alice (Melvin) Kuschel of Boulder Junction; dear family friend Bruce Klem of Kenosha and a wide circle of family and friends who were very close to her.Raised in Wausau, Mary attended business college and was employed by the telephone company in Tomahawk, WI. She married Robert O. Mueller in 1944 and they lived in Topeka KS during WWII, where she was employed by the government. After moving to New Berlin, Mary was active in many aspects of Gethsemane Ev. Lutheran Church; she worked as the church secretary and was devoted to raising her family. In later years she worked for Sears, mostly at the West Allis store. Mary enjoyed all kinds of music, sewing, and camping, but she had a special passion for reading. Mary was an avid reader and worked as a volunteer for adult literacy in Milwaukee and recently with a reading program for children in the Oshkosh school system. Mary is remembered for her quick sense of humor, her many friendships, her brave and uncrushable spirit, and her love of family.Services will be on October 11, 2006 at First Congregational Church, 137 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh, WI, with visitation at 10 am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am. Any donations are suggested in Marys name for the First Congregational Church where she was welcomed as a member during her years in Oshkosh or to the Evergreen Foundation for Evergreen Retirement Community.The family would like to extend very special thanks to the staff at Evergreen Retirement Community for their exceptional care and caring for Mary and her family. We also thank Revs. Ralph and Carol DiBiasio-Snyder of First Congregational Church for their help and thoughtfulness.
