Mary S. Malnar, 97 of Oshkosh, died Thursday April 15, 2010 at Evergreen Retirement Community. She was born in Nashwauk, MN on June 13, 1912 daughter of George and Helen Kezele Malnar. Mary "the Story Lady" was employed by the Oshkosh Public Library in the Children's Section for 30 years. She was a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish (St. Mary Site for many years). She was a member of and very active in many of these organizations; AARP,AAUW, Catholic Women's Club, American Field Service, Altrusa Club, Evergreen Community Aux., Twentieth Century Club, League of Women Voters, Friends of the Oshkosh Public Library, Friends of the Oshkosh Senior Center, Ladies Benevolent Society, Friends of the University of Minnesota Library, Fox Valley Library Assoc., American Library Assoc., Wisconsin Library Assoc., and Boys and Girls Club. She was the recipient of the Senior of the Month Award in May 1991 and the AAUW Name Grant. She started the first Childrens' Library Organization in the Fox Valley; and first toy library. She is survived by cousins, Rudy Kezele of Minneapolis, MN; Karen Kezele of Nashwauk, MN; and Greg (Mary) Kezele of Nashwauk, MN; and many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Malnar Mosca.A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday April 17, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Evergreen Retirement Community Chapel with Fr. James Jugenheimer officiating. Inurnment will be in Nashwauk Cemetery in Minnesota. Friends may call at the Evergreen Retirement Community Chapel from 9:30 until the time of the service. Memorials would be appreciated to the Altrusa Club, Friends of the Oshkosh Public Library, or Evergreen Community Care Assurance.
