Maxine Dorothy Draeger

Maxine D. Jarvenpaa Draeger, age 89 of Oshkosh died at Bethel Home on Wednesday December 2, 2009. Maxine was born in Bessemer, MI on July 12, 1920 a daughter of the late Frank and Helmi Peterson Williams. On September 11, 1937 she married Gust Jarvenpaa in Ironwood, MI. He preceded her in death on September 17, 1972. She then married Arthur Draeger on June 20, 1975 in Oshkosh.Maxine was a member of First English Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Womens Guild at church and enjoyed bowling, sewing and baking. Maxine enjoyed her family and loved her cats.Survivors include her husband Arthur Draeger, Oshkosh; four sons, Art (Hannelore) Jarvenpaa, Omro; Frank (Lynn) Jarvenpaa, Green Lake; Donny Jarvenpaa, Ironwood, MI; and Larry (Judy) Jarvenpaa, Oshkosh; one brother, Jerry Wiitanen, Wakefield, MI; one sister, Dorothy (Tom) Hendrickson, White Pine, MI; 12 grandchildren and 17 Great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Gust, one son, Danny Jarvenpaa, one brother, Eli Wiitanen and one sister Esther Aldridge.Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside beginning at 3:00 PM, Rev. Nancy Krueger officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 to 3:00pm on Saturday. A memorial has been established.The family wishes to thank the staff at Bethel Home for the wonderful care given to Maxine.
