Michael Anthony Ungvarsky

March 24, 1944 — December 23, 2006

Michael A. Ungvarsky, Jr., age 62, died Saturday evening, December 23rd, with his daughters by his side. He was born in Elmira, NY on March 24, 1944, the son of Michael A. Ungvarsky, Sr. and Eloise Doud Ungvarsky. Mike attended the University of Notre Dame, which always held a special place in his heart. He went on to graduate from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Mike then began a long, successful career as a real estate attorney in Crystal Lake, IL, where he gained as much respect in the community for his open and caring personality as he did for his sharp legal skills. Among his many special clients, he was legal counsel for the McHenry County Association of Realtors. Through the years, he also was an adjunct teacher at McHenry County College.Mike moved to Oshkosh, WI in June, 2004 to be closer to his family due to his failing health from Type 1 diabetes. True to form, he made many friends during his short time in Oshkosh, particularly the residents of Lakefront Manor apartments and the staff and patients where he received dialysis. Mike was blessed to meet Beatrice Hyde, who became a kind and loving companion during his last year of life.Mike is survived by his two children: Amy (Mike) Foley, Oshkosh and Ann Ungvarsky, Washington, DC. His strong and loving mother, Eloise, Nelson, PA.; siblings Sharon (Jon) Roberts, Rochester, NY; Mark (Michelea) Ungvarsky, Elmira, NY. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Emily Ann, Michael Thomas, and Matthew Patrick Foley, all of Oshkosh, and his nephews and nieces Jon, Melissa, Brendan and Erin. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael, Sr., and other loving relatives and friends.Mike was a vastly intelligent, yet unassuming man. He had friends from all walks of life and touched the lives of many people during his 62 years. Not only was he a phenomenal father to his two daughters, he was their greatest friend.A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday December 27, 2006 at St. Raphaels Catholic Church (830 S Westhaven Dr) with Fr Doug LeCaptain officiating.
