Michael I Solomon

April 27, 1947 — September 20, 2005

Michael I. Solomon, 58, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at Froedtert Memorial Hospital, Milwaukee WI. He was born in Chicago, IL on April 27, 1947 a son of Arnold and Margaret [Gerenstein] Solomon. He was the loving husband and best friend to his wife Kaye [Metzler] Solomon, devoted father of Andrew (friend Jessica Friedman) Solomon, David (Bobbie) Solomon, Leah (friend Pete Whitty) Solomon, and Joseph Solomon, and loving big brother to Ian Solomon. He is also survived by his mother in-law, Muriel [Boucher] Metzler, sisters- in-law, Diane (Tom) [Metzler] Hanseder, Kathleen (Wayne) [Metzler] Daniels, Marilyn (Fred) [Metzler] Sammons, brother-in-law Dennis (Linda) Metzler, his aunts, Ruth Mayer and Elizabeth Solomon and many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and a myriad of loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his father-in-law, Leo M. Metzler.Mike was the Vice-president of Temple Bnai Israel. He could be depended upon to bring his tools and fix whatever was needed. He was an avid conservationist and pheasant hunter. He was on the board of directors for Oshkosh chapter of Pheasants Forever, editor of the newsletter and on the Aldo Leopold Education committee. He believed that it is vital to preserve our wildlife habitat and conserve our parks and forests. Mike loved playing his guitar and singing around the campfire at Rendezvous. He played racquetball 3 times per week at the YMCA for over 25 years with good friends and competitors. He is a member of the Black Wolf Wildlife Association. Mike loved people and life. He lived life to the fullest. Contributions can be made to a memorial fund in his name. Visitation will be at the Konrad Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside on Thursday evening September 22, 2005 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A memorial service will be at the Temple Bnai Israel on Friday September 23, 2005 at 5:00 pm. The family will receive visits from family and friends at their home on Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00pm.
