Mike N. Caramanidis, 75, of Oshkosh passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Omro Care Center. Mike was born in North Fond du Lac on March 5, 1932 a son of the late Nicholas and Grammatiki Huliasmano Caramanidis. On January 8, 1954 Mike married Ellene Radke in Rockford, IL.Mike had been a Wisconsin State Trooper, was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and had served his country in the United States Navy. Mike enjoyed carving and collecting decoys, hunting and fishing.Survivors include his wife, Ellene of Oshkosh; a son, Tony (Teresa) Caramanidis of Conover, WI; a daughter, Susan (Thomas) Bruski of Oshkosh; two brothers, Gus Caramanidis of Oshkosh and Alex (Winifred) Caramanidis of Rosendale; two sisters, Helen (Howard) Klein of Oakfield and Ann Protogere of Appleton; three granddaughters, Emily Bruski, Sarah Bruski and Samantha Caramanidis; along with many nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by a brother, Anist Caramanidis and a sister, Mary Hendricks.Funeral services for Mike will be held on Monday, March 3, 2008 at Zion Lutheran Church (400 N Sawyer Street ? Oshkosh) at 6:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jeffrey Knoll officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to the time of service. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park with Military Honors. A memorial is being established.
