Mildred Milly White, 84, of Oshkosh died peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2013. Milly was born in Marinette, WI on April 18, 1929, to the late Marie and Anthony White. Shortly afterwards, the family moved to Wausau and Milly graduated from Wausau Senior High School in 1947.Milly was employed by the phone company for almost 20 years starting in Wausau and continuing in Oshkosh, where she was transferred in 1964. She spent many of those years with the phone company traveling in Wisconsin, training new phone operators, and in the process had made many friends around the state. After retiring from the phone company she worked briefly for Sears before starting her retirement years.Milly had an infectious laugh and a big smile. She loved being around people and cats, especially her Siamese cat, Cleo. Milly never turned down an opportunity to eat at her favorite restaurant, La Sures in Oshkosh, or enjoying custard at Culvers. When she wasnt able to get around in later years she would take a taxi, just to get her favorite meals. Milly was a member of Algoma Boulevard United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling and socializing with members of the church.Milly is preceded in death by her parents as well as a brother Howard. She is survived by her 3 sisters, Evelyn Breitung of Everett, WA, Helyn Koschmann and Dolly Nemke both of Wausau; and a brother, Leon White of Wausau. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews along with many good friends in the Oshkosh area.A memorial for Milly will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2013, at 2: 00 P.M. at Bella Vista Manor. Visitation will be from 1:30 P.M. until the time of service.The family wishes to thank Generations Hospice for their excellent care and support. A special thank you to everyone at Bella Vista Manor, not just the care they provided, but their friendship was invaluable to Milly.In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Generations Hospice or the Oshkosh Humane Society.
