Nancy L. Koss

January 4, 1935 — April 25, 2021

It is with heavy hearts we share the death of Nancy Lee Koss. Nancy died peacefully at home on Sunday, April 25, 2021.

Nancy was born on January 4, 1935 to the late Leroy and Eleanor (Savinske) Kittoe. On February 6, 1954 she married Robert Koss.

Nancy, along with her husband owned and operated Jabber’s Bar. There they made a lot of friends, laughs and a ton of memories! Together they coached and sponsored many champion softball and basketball teams. She even coached girl’s high school fast pitch teams. Nancy was a member of the Oshkosh Recreational Department Softball Commission. She especially loved watching her children and grandchildren play various sports. Along with her sports passion, Nancy’s other passions included her many boston terriers, convertibles, spending time at their trailer in Mountain with family and dining out regularly with family and friends.

Nancy attended Smith School. Her mother, Eleanor Savinske also was a student there, all of Nancy’s children and even some of her grandchildren!
Four generations. She graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1953 and attended the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Nancy became a crossing guard and volunteered on the PTA as President. Nancy was a Real Estate Broker for Century 21 and Coldwell Banker Schwab. Nancy retired from UWO Reeve Union.

Nancy is lovingly survived by her daughters: Kathleen (Ralph) Gantner, Cheryl (Thomas) Freiberg, Paula (Peter) Wenhardt, Lisa (Michael) Rhyner; granddaughters: Angela (Justin) Abbott, Tara (Josh) DePeau, Brittany (Jason) Wenhardt, Emily (Tyler) Kratz; grandsons: Gregory Gantner, Garry (Frances) Gantner, Samuel (Barb) Koss, Seth (Lottie) Koss, Anthony (Chera) Koss, Ryan (Shaya) Koss, Tyler (Mandie) Rhyner, Brett (Kinzey) Rhyner, Nick (Will) Wenhardt; 32 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Daniel (Elaine) Koss; sisters-in-law: Julie (Green) Wagner and Carol Koss; godchildren: Merry Monroe, Kristin Wagner Smith and Ryan (Blue eyes) Koss.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Jabber); son, Robert Jr; grandsons, Kent and Matthew Freiberg; mother and father, Eleanor and Leroy Kittoe; Special grandmother and grandfather, Pauline and Leo Savinske; mother and father-in-law, Arcile and Steven Koss; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Russell Monroe; brother-in-law, Steven Koss; sister-in-law Florence Koss; and niece, Michelle Westphal.

Special Thank you to Heartland Hospice and Oshkosh Fire and Police Departments for their compassion and care during this difficult time.

A memorial service for Nancy will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home, 100 Lake Pointe Dr, Oshkosh, with Rev. Tim Greenwald officiating. Visitation will take place from 1:00 pm until the time of service.
