Ned D. Lentz, 63 formerly of Oshkosh passed away May 3, 2008 in his Los Angeles home where he resided for the last 10 years, near his eldest daughter. A service was held for him in Los Angeles at Forest Lawn Memorial Park where he was cremated.He was born December 14, 1944 in Oshkosh the son of Fred and Frieda (Wokosin) Lentz (who preceded him in death, his Mother in 1995 and his Father in 1997).He graduated from Oshkosh High School class of 1963.In 1968 he married Joan Cottrell (she preceded him in death in 1977) and they have two daughters.In 1972 he owned and operated, Lentz Quality Roofing where he was in business for 25 years.In 1980 he married Lois Steinhilber, they lived in Oshkosh and were together for 17 years.In 1997 he retired and moved to Los Angeles, California to enjoy the warm weather and to be near his daughter. Ned loved his family and enjoyed the companionship of his beloved dog Squirt and the lifelong friendships he had made. He loved traveling and spent time in New York, Mexico and Las Vegas where he had many friends and played in poker tournaments. His poker skills and comical personality led him to meeting producers that used him as a creative consultant on writing a feature film. He enjoyed being involved in the Entertainment Industry and attended parties and made new friends with all different types of people, which added to his unique character. He was also a talented artist, had a great sense of humor and loved telling stories. He enjoyed American History, listening to old Rock and Roll music, politics and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He loved spending time with his daughter and best friend JoLane, who lived just blocks away from him. They frequently enjoyed dinner and socializing together at the three restaurants she owns. He was a devoted Father, Grandfather and a fun loving and kindhearted man who will be dearly missed.He is survived by two daughters, JoLane Lentz (Greg Morris) of Los Angeles, California and Jina (Kevin) Hochstetter and twin grandsons, Dylan and Mykal Hochstetter of Madison Wisconsin. Two sisters, Nancy Marshek of Princeton, Wisconsin and Norrine (Maurice) Letourneau of Oshkosh. Three nephews, Jeff and Scott (Beth) Marshek and Todd (Patty) Letourneau and one niece, Deirdre Letourneau. An uncle, Elmer (Eleanor) Wokosin and an aunt, June Fenrich of Oshkosh and several cousins.Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life on Friday, June 13, 2008 11 a.m. service at Peace Lutheran Church, 240 W. 9th Ave. in Oshkosh and as a tribute to one of his favorite memories, a reception will follow at Wendts on the Lake N9699 Lakeshore Drive. 1 to 4 p.m.
