Nelson Wayne Case

Nelson W. Case, age 62 of Oshkosh, passed away May 1, 2013 at his home. Nelson was born in Oshkosh on December 16, 1950, the son of Jerome Case and Geraldine (Schram) Case (Moderson). He is survived by his siblings; Brian (Patricia Schulz) Case of Homeland, CA, Paul (Susan) Case of Two Rivers, Cynthia (Ron Farmer) Case of Arlington, TX, Stanley (Barbara) Case of Vadnais Heights, MN and Donna (Michael) Van Landghen of Neenah along with many treasured nieces, nephews, and cousins. Both parents, his brother Bernard, his nephew Curtis, and his soul mate Dawn Block preceded him in death. Nelson was employed in a variety of positions at Oshkosh Truck Corporation for 30 years. He loved planting trees, camping, working on cars, and finding ways to use and repurpose things before green became popular. He enjoyed visiting state parks and preserves such as Peninsula State Park, High Cliff State Park, and Waukau Creek Nature Preserve as well as finding out of the way specialty cheese factories and unique artisan crafters at summer festivals. Nelson was a Vietnam Veteran who served his country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps.. Military funeral honors will take place graveside at 12:30 p.m., Friday, June 21, 2013 at Lake View Memorial Park, 2786 Algoma Boulevard, Oshkosh, (920) 236-2828. Friends may greet the family in the chapel from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
