Oscar Henry Zuehlke

April 4, 1919 — September 18, 2011

Oscar Henry Zuehlke 92, of Ripon, formerly of Oshkosh, passed away on Sunday September 18, 2011 at Fountain View Care Center. He was born on April 4, 1919, the son of Lousia Schawtus and Adolph Otto Zuehlke. Oscar was raised on Clay Road in the Town of Nekimi. He loved to tell the many stories of pranks and adventures he and his friends had while attending Brick School. He was a very dapper young man while attending Oshkosh high school. Oscar and his family continued farming until the farm was sold and they moved to Oshkosh in 1942. He was very proud of his dairy herd and talked endlessly of his herd until his last days. In 1942 he Married Pearl Janet Hunter, who remained his wife for 54 years until her death on Sept. 17, 1996. They had one daughter Patricia Ann (Zuehlke) Faust. During his working years he worked at Duo Safety Ladder and Dunphy Boat until they went out of business. He then worked for Raimer Sausage as a Routesman until they changed ownership. He spent the rest of his years employed with the UW-O system until his retirement. He was a proud member of the Eagles and also took care of the dance floor and maintenance care of the entire building. His hobbies included woodworking, his garden, and keeping his car spotless. After the death of his wife Pearl, he met and fell in love with Jeannette McConnel, whom he married in the 1997. Jeannette passed away Dec. 3, 2001. Due to his failing health, his dear friends from his church Wayne and Roberta LaMont, took over the duty of his cares and needs. They did a wonderful job easing the burden on his family and seeing that he had the best. Oscar is survived by his daughter Patricia Ann (Zuehlke) Faust, three granddaughters, Lee Ann Musselman (Steven), Kitty(Mark) Schmick , Tricia (LaMar) Karst, eight great grandchildren Heather Robinett (Corey), Hiedi (Gary) Sheldon, Zack, Casey, and Logan Schmick , Colin, Madi Pearl, and Walker Karst, five great-great grandchildren, Carley, Katie, Sophie, Jacob and Michael, his special god daughter Fay, and his dear friends Wayne and Roberta and their family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Pearl, his wife Jeannette, his brother George, a granddaughter Mary Elizabeth Faust, a grandson William Jon Faust, and his son-in-law Robert Lee Faust. A funeral service for Oscar is being held Friday Sept. 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside. Visitation will be held on Friday at the Lake Pointe Dr. funeral home from 10 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. A special thank you goes to the staffs at Evergreen, Maple Crest Assisted Living, Fountain View Care Center, and especially Wayne and Roberta for all the wonderful care Oscar was given.
