Patricia J. Biebel

March 17, 1930 — June 24, 2015

Patricia J. Biebel (nee Johnston), 85, passed away in her home Wednesday morning, June 24th 2015 following a long and courageous battle with ALS. Patsy was the long time business associate, travel companion, bridge partner and soul-mate to her husband of 63 years, Roy R. Biebel. They are long-time residents of Oshkosh and also had maintained homes in Green Lake, Wisconsin and Punta Gorda Isles, Florida. She was born March 17th, 1930 in Oshkosh. She attended Oshkosh High School and graduated with a degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She married Roy on March 1st, 1952.She is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Ada (nee Garretson) Johnston and her sisters Miriam Fawcett, Margaret Meyer and Louise Chaloupka. She had two brothers, William Johnston and Kenneth Johnston (deceased). With Roy she nurtured, educated and civilized six children into adulthood: Mary (David) Mahr, Peter (Jane) Biebel, Thomas (Karen) Biebel, Daniel (Kathy) Biebel, James Biebel (partner Domenic Scarpulla) and John (Karen) Biebel. She later nurtured, educated and spoiled ten grandchildren: Emily (Mahr) Toppert, Elizabeth (Mahr) Kahle, Sara Biebel, Matthew Biebel, Derek Biebel, Margaret Biebel, Patrick Biebel, Gretchen Biebel Casey (Biebel) Green and Molly Biebel as well as one great grandchild: Olivia Kahle. They all owe their love of holiday get-togethers, their board-game skills, their joy of reading, their manners and their posture to her. Same with their good-er grammar too. None of them will ever again watch an episode of Jeopardy or play a game of Sequence or work on a crossword puzzle without thinking of her.She loved to bake. She loved to read. She loved to travel. Beyond that, all who knew her would agree that Patricia was a true lady.May you rest in peace, Mom.
