Philip Arden Laborde

Philip A. LaBorde Sr, 89, of Oshkosh, died at Evergreen Retirement Community on Friday, November 3, 2006. He was born in Ripon, WI on November 11, 1916, a son of the late Glenn and Marion Grant LaBorde. On March 10, 1941 he married Marjorie Kofney in Alexandria, LA. She preceded him in death on January 10, 1975. Philip later married Marion Peachy Reynolds Severson, on July 16, 1977 in Hortonville. Peachy preceded him in death on March 13, 1999.Philip served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He retired from Fox Valley technical College, in Appleton, where he had been an instructor for many years. He attended First Congregational Church in Oshkosh. After his retirement, Philip was active with the Retired Teachers and the Wednesday luncheon group at FVTC, He volunteered with the EAA, and the Appleton Symphony.Survivors include one son, Philip A (Karen) LaBorde Jr., of Oshkosh; and one daughter, Marjorie L. (Fred) Schmidt, of Spring Hill, FL; one brother, Russell LaBorde, of Milwaukee; one granddaughter, Jennifer M. Schmidt, of Spring Hill, FL.and a special friend, Sally Block, of Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Gerald LaBorde.Private memorial services will be held with Revs Ralph and Carol DiBiasio-Snyder officiating. Inurnment will be at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. A memorial has been established.
