Rebecca Ellen Waldecker, age 17, passed peacefully on February 18, 2008 at her home with her family present. Becca was born in Oshkosh October 24, 1990, the daughter of Christina Golay and adopted at birth by James F. and Patricia A. Waldecker.Becca attended the Early Childhood Program, Webster Stanley Elementary and Middle School. At the conclusion of her elementary education, Becca received the Siv Lindgren Can-Do award, in recognition of her achievements despite her physical limitations.Beccas travels throughout the United States resulted in rich and enduring friendships. Locally, Becca enjoyed swimming, horseback riding, listening to her father read, creative writing, listening to music, and singing with friends.Becca is survived by her parents, Jim and Patti Waldecker; her brother, Francis A. Waldecker; her birthmother, Christina Golay; half-sister, Abbey Kjemhus; half-brother, Cody Kjemhus all of Oshkosh; grandfather, Gordon Gullikson of La Crosse, WI; the Waldecker family of Green Bay; the Genrich family of Green Bay; the Anderson families of Bozeman, MT; the White family of Bozeman, MT; the Popkey family of Green Bay; and the Schmitt family of Algoma and Green Bay.Services for Becca will be on Saturday February 23, 2008 at the Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish – St. Josaphats Site on the Corner of Walnut Street and Congress Avenue at 11:00 AM with Fr. James Jugenheimer officiating. Private inurnment will be later. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Challenge Air; Beaming Equestrian; and Make a Wish Foundation.The family thanks the Northside schools faculties, especially those at Webster Stanley and Oshkosh North High School, for providing an environment in which she thrived; Barbara Strand, MD for a longstanding dedication to Beccas well-being; Affinity VNA Hospice for their comfort and compassionate efforts these past four weeks; and Fr.
