Rex Stewart Horne, age 61, died peacefully on October 24, 2013 at Bella Vista in Oshkosh, WI. Rex was born on March 22, 1952 to Van and Katherine (Stewart) Horne in Denver, CO. He was married to Toni Grandl on August 14, 1988.In his childhood he enjoyed going to the mountains, camping out, fishing, as well as being involved with the Boy Scouts.He graduated high school and worked at Booth-Rouse Equipment Co. in Commerce City CO, Gates manufacturing, then went on to work at Badger Federal after moving to Oshkosh and after that finishing up his working career at Lapham-Hickey Co. He was always known for his good work ethic and was always liked by his employers and fellow workers. While working at Gates he studied and became a member of the Masonic Lodge.Rex was a fun, loving person. He loved riding roller coasters wherever he could find one, riding his Harley, going overboard with the fireworks on the Fourth of July, enjoyed the annual Oshkosh EAA, the Denver Broncos while living in Denver and the Green Bay Packers when he moved with his wife Toni to be by her family in Oshkosh.He is survived by his mother, Katherine; wife Toni; sons Jake (special friend Kayty Dehling) and Stewart (Wendi); daughter, Shona; grand daughters, Hailey and Alissa; grandson, C.J.; brothers, Terry (Ruth), Don, and Tim; sisters, Connie Santini and Cathie Bailey.He is further survived by sisters-in-law, Marta (Gary) Hoch, Gretchen (Steve) Brown; brother-in-law, Paul Grandl, and many nieces and nephews.A service for Rex will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes- (Westside) with Fr. Doug LeCaptain. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.The family would like to send a thank you to Froedert Medical Center in Milwaukee, the care he received in Fond du Lac, the staff at Bella Vista, and the care from his doctors and nurses.Rex will always be missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
