Richard F. Grable

Richard F. Grable, 84, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully Sunday November 4, 2012, with family by his side, at Park View Health Center. He was born February 10, 1928 a son of the late Anton and Vera (Weber) Grable. He married Virginia E. Merrill on February 18, 1946 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Oshkosh. She preceded him in death on October 18, 2006. Richard was an avid fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Green Bay Packers, except when they played the Chicago Bears (Boo!). He really enjoyed spending time with his family especially hunting, fishing, playing cards, and time at the Buck Camp. He was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Parish-St. Vincent Church and was a faithful volunteer with the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother at Franciscan Courts, Oshkosh. As an Associate at SSM Franciscan Courts, he participated in the Liturgy of the Eucharist and the Liturgy of the Hours, Vespers, and Adoration. The family is most appreciative of the friendships, prayers, and support that were extended to their father. Richard is survived by three daughters, Linda (Lee) Baerwald of Oshkosh, Mary Kay Grable (Bob Jome) of Shawano, and Julie (Rick) Kerr of Oshkosh; a son Gary (Katie) Grable of Oshkosh; a daughter-in-law, Peggy Grable of Oshkosh; a brother, Raymond Grable of Oshkosh; twelve grandchildren, Tony Grable, Rick (Kristin) Grable, Becky (Steve) Zimmer, Michelle (Mike) Faggio, Katie Hassler, Sadie (Chad) Jensen, Natalee (Todd) Mueller, Jamie Baerwald, Casey (Nicole) Cotton, Anna (Jason) Yaeger, Jason Kerr, and Jessica (Joshua) Andersen; eighteen great-grandchildren, Emily, Charlie, Jack, Will, Ella, Jacob, Zachary, Trace, Andrew, Kalin, Vincent, Isabella, Sophie, Grace, Maxwell, Lillian, Tyler, and Wesley. He was preceded in death by a son Charles Grable. A Homecoming Celebration and Mass of Christian Burial for Richard will be held Wednesday November 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Parish-St. Vincent Church. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service. Inurnment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials are being established to The Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother and Park View Health Center. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the staff at Park View Health Center for the wonderful care given. Earth weeps, Heaven rejoices, we will keep you in our hearts forever.
