Richard Francis Schaefer

Richard Francis Schaefer, age 92, passed away on Sunday February 7, 2016 at Evergreen Retirement Community. Richard was born on March 14, 1923 to the late George and Mabelle (Diehl) Schaefer. After graduating high school Richard joined the Navy and fought in World War II. In 1955, Richard married Grace Hasse and they had two children together. Richard spent his career working for Henry Valve Company. He was also an avid bowler, fisherman, and golfer; he also enjoyed watching horse racing at Arlington Park.Richard is survived by two daughters, Susan (Tom) Hall and Laurie (Brek) Peterson; and three grandchildren, Jeremy Hall, Jordan Peterson and Claire Peterson.Richard is preceded in death by his loving wife Grace; and his brother George (Florence) Schaefer Jr.Per the wishes of the family no services will be taking place.
