Richard H. Ristow

Richard Dick H. Ristow, 70 of Oshkosh, died Tuesday January 11, 2011 at Aurora Medical Center. He was born in Oshkosh on February 1, 1940 son of Arthur and Anna Wojcik Ristow. On July 21, 1962 he married Sandra Case in Oshkosh. Dick was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. He had been employed by the American Can Co. in Neenah. He was an active member of the Oshkosh Elks Club B.P.O.E. #292. He was instrumental in orchestrating their wild game and fish feeds. He belonged to Sturgeons for Tomorrow and enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He had a cabin in Conover, WI where he loved to spend time. He was known to be often found at Tews Sport Shop and Delta restaurant spending time with his friends and acquaintances. He also loved family bus trips. Dick had served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.Dick is survived by his wife, Sandra Ristow; two daughters, Kelly (Peter) Sherman, and Jan Ristow; two granddaughters, Hannah Sherman, and Alexandra Ristow all of Oshkosh; three brothers, Robert (Kim) Ristow of Appleton, Arthur (Donna) Ristow of Lebanon, TN, and Dr. Ronald Ristow of Oconto Falls, WI; two sisters, Jean Lugg of Phoenix, AZ, and Janet (David) Priebe of Oshkosh; and brother/in/law, Norman (Barb) Mathe of Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Jeanette Mathe.His funeral will be on Friday January 14, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home - Westside with Rev. Tim Greenwald officiating. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 PM and on Friday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. An Elks memorial service will be Thursday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. A memorial to the Elks has been established.
