Richard Lee Wokosin

Richard L. Woky Wokosin, age 63 of Oshkosh died peacefully at Theda Clark Medical Center on April 3, 2011, after a recent illness. He grew up in Oshkosh, graduated from Oshkosh West High School and then from Fox Valley Technical College in Auto Mechanics. He worked first at Sears Automotive, and then joined the team at Oshkosh Truck until his retirement in 2010 after 35 years.Woky was an avid reader, sports fan and puzzle lover. He enjoyed playing games with family (most often winning), on-line searches, challenges and writing his opinion for the editorial page of the Northwestern. Woky enjoyed traveling before health reasons denied him this pleasure and liked cooking and finding new recipes to share at family get-togethers and holidays.He is survived and loved by his mother Florence L. (nee Lewis) Wokosin, Oshkosh; brother, Thomas E. Wokosin; sister-in-law, Carol Wokosin; niece, Cori C. Wokosin, all of Appleton; Uncle, Elmer Wokosin; Aunt, Eleanor Wokosin; both of Oshkosh; lifelong friend, Larry Westphal, Oshkosh; companion Crivitz the kitty and many dear cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur G. Wokosin and sister, Gloria J. Wokosin, both of Oshkosh.The family would love to meet and greet relatives and friends on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 PM, Rev. Nancy Krueger to officiate.Family was assisted with cremation and arrangements by Konrad-Behlman Funeral homes and Lake View Memorial Park. A special thanks to be extended to the fifth floor nursing staff of Theda Clark Medical Center for the gentle care given to Dick and his family in their time of need. God Bless.
