Rita Maloney Malchow, age 85, died peacefully on January 14, 2015. She is survived by her children, Lynn (Autumn Doerr) Malchow, Pasadena, CA; Mike (Diane) Malchow, Oshkosh; Liz (Gordon) Price, Tampa, FL; Peter (Janet Macklin) Malchow, Oshkosh; Joe Malchow, Milwaukee; Joda (Butch) Butler, Lakeland, FL; Mary (Mike) Bauer, Sheboygan; and John (Mary) Malchow, White Bear Lake, MN. She is also survived by special niece, Dawn Pagel Beahm, special goddaughter, Maureen Stoeffel, and two special nephews, Russell and William Spanbauer; by thirteen grandchildren (Katie, Donald and Peter Malchow; Joda Dimitriadis; Matthew Malchow; Laura Akin; Carolyn, Pjay and Sara Butler; Oliver, Macauly and Madeline Bauer; and Emma Malchow); by foster granddaughter, Brenda Cronier; and by two great-grandchildren (Sam and Adam Akin). She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Malchow; by her parents, Charles and Winifred Maloney, and her stepmother, Florence Maloney; and by her siblings, Peggy Anderson, Pat Maloney, Doug Maloney, Marie Dolan, Mickey Drexler, Edward R. Maloney, Edward C. Maloney and Gerald Maloney. She is survived by her siblings, Maryann Hoeft, Thomas Maloney and Mary Jo Finley; and also by special and loving friend, Maureen Radford Eckstein. Rita was a lifelong teacher in the Oshkosh area, and was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church (now Most Blessed Sacrament). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Blessed Sacrament (the St. Peters site, 435 High St., Oshkosh) on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at 11:00 AM, Fr. Michael Warden officiating. Visitation at the church will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, Ritas family asks that donations be made to The Oshkosh Area Community Pantry (2551 Jackson St., Oshkosh). The Malchow family also wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at Arborview Manor and to those at Heartland Hospice Care who cared for Rita during the last months of her life.
