Robert “Bob” C. Carder, age 62, of Oshkosh, WI, died Monday, March 30, 2020, at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh, WI. His family is comforted knowing he was a child of God and that he was guided home on angel’s wings to be with Jesus in heaven.
He was born to the late Robert Russell and Margaret (O’Neill) Carder, on November 26, 1957, in Oshkosh, WI. Bob was an alumnus of Oshkosh North High School as a member of the Class of 1976.
On December 13, 1996, he married the love of his life, Brenda Lee (Gosdeck) Carder of Neenah, WI at Faith Lutheran Church (WELS) in Oshkosh, WI.
As a young man, he enjoyed skiing and road trips around the country. As a family man, he relished road trips and sitting outside on the patio with close friends and neighbors. He enjoyed watching television, especially, the local and world news, COPS, Live PD, Chicago Fire, Grey’s Anatomy, and football. The Green Bay Packers were always his number one team and rarely did he miss a televised game. He was fond of listening to music, especially the Eagles and Chicago. He enjoyed visiting his brother, Douglas, as often as he could before his health greatly declined. He reveled in fishing with his children and other family members. Brenda (wife) enjoyed rearranging the living room furniture frequently during these times and watching his face when he got home and came into the living room. Most of all, he preferred to stay home and loved spending time with his wife and their children.
During his life, beginning as a teenager, he worked for Leon’s Frozen Custard shop followed by SNC Manufacturing Company both in Oshkosh, WI. He worked as a security guard for Theda Clark Medical Center (now ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Neenah) in Neenah, WI. In September 1994, he began working in his final and longest-held position as an on-the-road technician for Sears, Roebuck and Company in Appleton, WI. He repaired lawn mowers, snow blowers, garage door openers, and treadmills. He enjoyed helping others, meeting new people, and making friends as many returning customers requested Bob, specifically, to come to their homes to repair items for them. He retired from this position in June of 2017.
Bob is survived by his wife, Brenda, his children: Codie Carder, Jonathan Carder, Brianna Carder, Ryan Carder, and Brittany Carder, one brother: Douglas Carder of Oshkosh, WI, special aunt: Donna Cravillion, one sister: Denise Dilling, two grandchildren: Harmony Carder and Adayn Carder, very special nephews, a niece, and very special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: James Patrick Carder, and his father-in-law: Herbert “Tiny” Gosdeck.
The family wishes a special thank you to the physicians, nurses, and CNAs in the ICU and on the second floor at Aurora Medical Center for their kindness, guidance, caring, and compassion as they assisted Bob with his medical needs. As well as for their help, guidance, and support for our family as Bob’s needs changed during these unprecedented times, including visitation restrictions.
A Celebration of Life/Memorial, to honor Bob, will be arranged at a later date so that all who wish to attend may do so, to come together as a group to regale everyone with stories of Bob, and to support his family during the times to come. Brenda (wife) and their children know Bob would have wanted that.
