Robert G. Eichel, 56, of Oshkosh died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 9, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center. Robert was born on December 7, 1951 in Oshkosh the son of Alvin and Doris Kromm Eichel. He married Josephine Jo Miller on August 16, 1975 in Lodi, WI.He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, served as an usher and greeter. Robert worked at Citizens First Credit Union formerly as Vice President of Operations and now as Compliance Officer. Robert was on the Board of Directors of the United Cerebral Palsy of Oshkosh, was Treasurer of the organization and also was a volunteer for the Salvation Army. He was a former member of the Mid Morning Kiwanis and a former member of the Calvary Lutheran Churchs council. Bob was a Civil War enthusiast and a history buff who also enjoyed woodcarving and photography.Survivors include his wife, Jo; mother, Doris Eichel; sisters, Sandy (Kris) Schwebke and Ruth (Jeff) Reiter all of Oshkosh; god-children, Rachel Miller of Sauk City, Rachel Schwebke, Jessica and Jacob Reiter, all of Oshkosh. He is also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Herm (Ginny) Miller of Lodi, Rafe (Robin) Miller of Sauk City, Gabe (Joanne) Miller of Lodi, Mike (Tami) Miller of Prairie Du Sac, Nick Miller of Sauk City, Lucy (Mike) Dunn of Galesville, Johnny (Dawn) Miller of Lodi, Mary (Dan) Sammons of Bradley, IL, Paulie (Tina) Miller of Lodi and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin.The memorial service will be on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church (2580 W 9th Ave) with the Rev. Joel Olson officiating. Family and friends may visit at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Westside) on Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation or Calvary Lutheran Church.A special thank you to the staff at Mercy Medical Center Intensive Care Unit, Dr Al-Bitar and Dr. Qureshi for all the care they gave Robert.
