Robert Marshall Williams

Robert M. Williams, 85, of Oshkosh died Friday November 14, 2008 at Aurora Medical Center. He was born in Oshkosh on October 17, 1923 son of Marshall and Martha Marin Williams. On April 6, 1946 he married Lenore Olsen in Oshkosh. She preceded him in death on March 31, 2007.Robert was a lifetime member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. He had been employed by Medalist Industries and retired from the Square D Company. He had served his country in the U.S. Army and was a proud World War II veteran serving as a Sergeant in the Medical Corps. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star. He served in India, Burma and China from 1943-1945. He was also awarded four Bronze Battle Stars, the Chinese Star of Honor, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, and the Good Conduct Medal. He had served as a member of the Civil Defense. He was also a Post Commander of the V.F.W. and in his younger years enjoyed fishing and hunting.He is survived by four children and seven grandchildren, Tom (Pam) Williams, their children Erik and Anna of Huntersville, NC, Steve (Deb) Williams, their children Josh and Jessica of Omro, Dan (Kim) Williams their son Dustin of Oshkosh, Karen Williams, her daughters Hope and Erin of Oshkosh; four great-grandchildren Adaya, Kaitlyn, Brooklyn, and Claire; four brothers, Bernard (Sharon) Williams, Jack (Donna) Williams, Don (Barbara) Williams, and Jerry (Carol) Williams; three sisters/in/law, Lois Konrad, LaVerne Olsen, and Lola Olsen; and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Carlton; a sister, Mary (Mike) Steig; three brothers/in/law, Anton, Alvin, and Elmer Olsen; and a sister/in/law, Elsie (Frank) Hansen.His funeral service will be Tuesday November 18, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Our Saviors Lutheran Church with Rev. Kemp Jones officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. A memorial to the Our Saviors Lutheran Church has been established.
