Robert Oscar Mueller, 82, of Oshkosh and formerly of Neshkoro, WI, and New Berlin, WI, passed away August 19,2004, surrounded by loved ones. Bob was born in Athens, WI, on Sept. 25, 1921, tote late Arthur andMatilda (Engebrecht) Mueller. He was preceded in death by his brother,Martin Mueller, in 1923. He is survived by many friends and familymembers, including his beloved wife, Mary Louise (Hintze) Mueller; sistersMarge (Cr1) Penno of Edgar, WI; Fritzi Riley, of Annapolis, MD; Carol(Paul, deceased) Hannah of Park Ridge, IL; and brother Bud (Donna)Mueller of Winfield, KS; children, Karen (Ted) Bowen of Oshkosh; LizKlein of Brown Deer; Jim Mueller of Chilton; and Chris (Bruce) Jovaag ofFond du Lac. He is also survived by grandchildren Dylan, Beth and JennyMueller; Amelia Klein; Ed and Ann Bowen; and great- grandchildrenBrogan and Autumn Mueller, as well as dear family friends Sue Hoffman,Dan Osterud and Bruce Klein. Bob grew up on the family farm near Athens, WI, before moving to Milwaukee to work at Allis-Chalmers as an accounting clerk. He subsequently joined the Army Air Force during WWII, where among other things, he played his trumpet in the military band. He married Mary Hintze on November 25, 1944, in Wausau, WI; they later returned to Milwaukee after his military service ended, where his employment with Allis-Chalmers continued for 40 years. He was also employed by Sears in West Allis for many years. Bob loved playing and listening to music (especially jazz), as well as gardening, camping, carpentry and ecology. He worked for social and political justice causes. Bob possessed endless humor, curiosity and intellect; above he all he was devoted to his family. There will be a visitation August 27,2004 at First Congregational Church,137 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh, WI, at 10:30 am and a memorial service at11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to Habitat for Humanity or KoinoniaPartners are suggested in Bobs name. The family is especially gratetful tothe staff of Evergreen Retirement Community, Affinity Hospice and MercyMedical Center, as well as Drs. Ringwala, Brescia and Zornosa and Reverends Ralph and Carol DiBiasio-Snyder for their kindness.
