Robert Philip Miller

Robert P. Miller, 65, of Neenah, passed away Friday November 24, 2006, after a three year battle with cancer. He was born in Oshkosh, on October 17, 1941, the son of Leo and Lucille Miller. Robert married Marlene Kuehn on August 7, 1965 in Oshkosh. After graduating from Oshkosh High School in 1959, he briefly worked at Oshkosh Motor Truck. He then joined the military, with the 127th Infantry 32nd Division (Red Arrow). After his unit returned from deployment he worked for 30 years at Rockwell International and was a member of the Local 291 United Auto Workers Union. Bob was a volunteer on the Town of Vinland Fire Department for over 25 years, and was also on the grounds committee at Grace Lutheran Church of Neenah. He loved woodworking, yard work, and lending a helping hand. He could often be found at the picnic table visiting with friends under the tree in the backyard.Robert is survived by his wife, Marlene, a son, Mathew Miller (Amy McMillan) and a daughter, Wendy Miller ( Lucas Wendt), two sisters, Joan (Floyd) Taylor, Carol (Mike) Wifler, sister-in-law, Judy (James) Gruse, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends, Sophi and Kitt-E. He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, Arnold and Dorothy Kuehn, brothers-in-law, Floyd Taylor, and James Gruse.The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the doctors and staff at the Aurora Clinic and Hospital, Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, Aurora Hospice of Oshkosh and the University Hospital in Madison. They would also like to thank their wonderful family and friends for their comfort and prayers.A memorial service for Robert will be held on Tuesday November 28, 2006 at 11:00 am at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church (1390 Breezewood Lane, Neenah) with Pastor Richard Frost officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am until the hour of service. Inurnment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aurora VNA Hospice (650 Doctors Ct, Oshkosh).
