Roger G Allmers

Roger G. Allmers, 89 of Oshkosh, died Thursday March 30, 2006 at the Evergreen Retirement Community. He was born in Oshkosh on December 19, 1916 the son of the late Walter and Alma Kabke Allmers. On June 29, 1940 he married Eileen Hetue at First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. She preceded him in death on November 29, 2005.Roger had been employed by Johnson Foods of Oshkosh. He had served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Roger was a member of the First English Lutheran Church. He had been a member of the Lutheran Men in Mission, and the Neighborhood Center, and he and his wife enjoyed many other church functions. He had loved to travel along with his wife, visiting with friends and family. He also loved to golf, and play dartball in the church leagues, and to play cards, especially cribbage. Roger was an avid reader. He considered the time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to be very precious.Roger is survived by his son Gary (Audrey) Allmers of Oshkosh, a daughter, Barbara (Alan) Repp of Oshkosh, grandchildren, Todd (Brenda) Repp, Jason (Sadie) Allmers, Robin (Tom) Heneghan, step grandchildren, Lance Patrie, Tyler Patrie, Joyce (Jeff) Engelman, Fawn Lind, and Tristie (Richard) Jones, great grandchild, Cody James, step great grandchildren, Luke, Faith, Adam, Kayla, Stacia, Eden, Ricky, Melody, Hunter, Morgan, and William, a sister/in/law, Thelma Lindsten, and other relatives and friends.He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Allmers, a brother, Kenneth Allmers, a sister, Anona Wanty, a sister/in/law, Leona Immich, and a brother/in/law, Kenneth Hetue.His funeral will be Monday April 3, 2006 at 1:00 PM at the First English Lutheran Church with the Rev. Martin Ruge officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the church on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of the services. Memorials may be given to the First English Lutheran Church. The family wishes to express its heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Evergreen Retirement Community.
