Roy Edward O'Krueg

Roy E. OKrueg, 86, Oshkosh, passed away peacefully Friday, May 6, 2016 at his residence. Roy was born to the late Roy Sr. and Eleanore (May) OKrueg on September 30, 1929. He married Donna Tice January 23, 1954. Donna preceded him in death November 1, 2003.Roy was a United States Army veteran having served in the Korean War. He later worked as a machine operator for Kimberly Clark for 31 years before retirement in 1988. Roy enjoyed hunting (deer, duck, and turkey), fishing, flower and vegetable gardening as well as playing cribbage and past trips to the casino. Roy also enjoyed Friday night fish fry at the Roxy, and especially delighted in his daily trip to the Murdock Street Piggly Wiggly to visit the girls.Roy is survived by his children, Donald (Kathy) OKrueg, Steven (Leah) OKrueg, and Jean (Barry) Harvot; former daughter-in-law, Linda OKrueg; three grandchildren, Melissa and Andrew (Shaleen) OKrueg, and Amy (Josh) Bauling; six great grandchildren, Tony, Evan, Ben, Josslyn, Natalie, and Nathan. He is further survived by brother-in-law Sam Lomanto.In addition to his wife Donna, Roy was also preceded in death by his sisters, Alice Cole, and Imogene Lomanto.A funeral service for Roy will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home - Westside (100 Lake Pointe Dr. Oshkosh), with Rev. Tim Greenwald officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service. Military honors will be presented at the committal. Roys family would like to thank the staff of Affinity Hospice, especially Ryan, Becky, Terri, Barb and Cheryl for their compassionate care.In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
