Russell T. Thompson, age 88, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Oakwood Manor. Russell was born on October 8, 1926 to Arthur and Lois (Van Houten) Thompson in Berlin, WI. He married Louise Malsin on June 7, 1947 in Berlin.Russell graduated high school from Berlin High School and went on to be a repair/installation man for Wisconsin Bell/At&t phone companies for 37 years before retirement.He was a Jack of all Trades and could be found gardening, woodworking, working on small engines, or doing electrical, plumbing, or carpentry work.Russell is survived by his nine children, Julie Lang, Kathleen (James) Stromske,Thomas (Diane) Thompson, Mary Lou (Randy) Moore, Anne (Darel) Boyce, Jane (Rick) Steiner, Paul Thompson, Rita (fianc Duane Lepianka) Triatik and Betsy (Paul) Lafontaine; 29 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and sister in law Marlene Thompson.He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty years, Louise, parents and brother, Eugene Thompson.A memorial service will be held for Russell at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish- St. Josaphat Church (1333 Walnut St.) Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.The family would like to express sincere and heartfelt thanks to the staff at Oakwood Manor especially Kari, Steve, Brenna, Velvet, Amy 1 & 2, Anton, Mary, and the Heartland Hospice Staff.Special thanks to John Moore and Family for 50 plus years of life at the 'Farm'. That will always be Russ's 'home'.
