Ruth Margaret Smith

Ruth M. Smith, age 87, passed away with her family by her side on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Evergreen Retirement Community. She was born on January 15, 1926 to Harley and Ruth OKrueg in Oshkosh, WI. She was married to Richard T. Smith in June of 1949 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Oshkosh, WI.Ruth was a high school graduate from Oshkosh High School and from there worked many years as the Deputy clerk of courts at the Winnebago County Courthouse. She enjoyed cooking, reading, knitting in her younger years, spending time with family and grandchildren, and caring for her dog.Ruth is survived by her daughters, Susan (William) Bracken of Oshkosh and Patricia (Jesus) Mireles of Waukesha; grandchildren, Natalie Mireles, Megan Bracken, and Caitlin (Fianc Kyle Mosel) Bracken.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, sisters Dolores (Leonard) Moen and Rosemary (Donald) Ward, and a grandson Patrick Bracken.A funeral service for Ruth will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish St. Marys Church (442 Monroe St.) and will be officiated by Fr. James Jugenheimer. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.Interment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association or the Oshkosh humane society.The family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen for the care they gave to Ruth.
