Severa Christine Gurath

Severa C. Gurath, age 96 of Oshkosh died Friday, December 5, 2014 at her home. She was born on December 25, 1917 in Oshkosh, the daughter of Arthur H. and Amalia (Erdmann) Puehler. She was married to Wilbur Gurath on April 6, 1940.Severa graduated from Oshkosh Business College and the worked in Madison for the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance. She then returned to Oshkosh and worked for the Oshkosh Area School as an Administrative Secretary for 28 years, retiring in 1984.She was a member of Martin Luther Church since 1939 and was an Associate member of Winnebago Retired Educators Association.Severa is survived by a daughter, Judith L. Gurath of Fox Point, WI; and son, David W. Gurath of Leesburg, FL.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur; and brother, Stanton Puehler.Funeral services for Severa will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Luther Ev. Lutheran Church (1526 Algoma Blvd.) with Pastors Jeffrey Berg and Nathan Ericson officiating. Visitation is going to be held at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
