Sherry Marie Lessard

Sherry M. Lessard, 63, of Santa Margarita, CA (formally from Hortonville, WI) passed away at her home with her loving husband, Lance, at her side on April 18, 2022, after a lengthy illness. Sherry was born October 26, 1958 in Appleton, WI, daughter of Irene and the late James Diedrich, Hortonville, WI.

After graduating Magna Cum Laude from UW Eau Claire, WI with a major in Special and Elementary Education, Sherry taught in several different states for 37 years; 7 years teaching 5th and 6th grade elementary and 30 years special education (K-8th grade) ending her career, retiring from Cayucos Elementary, Cayucos, CA in 2019. Sherry was a member of the Old Mission Catholic Church, San Luis Obispo, CA where she enjoyed many years of singing with their choir.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Lance, her step-children: Chelsea, Los Angeles, CA and Ryan (Samantha) Lessard in the Army at Fayetteville, NC, her mother, Irene Diedrich, sisters: Diane (Barney) Cross, Yvonne (Paul) Ziegler, brothers: Mark (Sandy), Richard (Deb), Joseph (Faye) Diedrich, all of Hortonville, WI, William (Kathy) Diedrich, of Greenville, WI, mother and father-in-law, Oliver and Leoda Lessard, brother-in-law, Keith (LeAnn) Lessard of Vancouver, WA, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her father, James and infant sister, Linda Rose, her grandparents, Mathias and Mercedes (MaGuire) Diedrich, Joseph and Elizabeth (Hietpas) Ebben.

A Mass for Sherry will be celebrated at the Old Mission Catholic Church, San Luis Obispo, CA on May 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. A memorial Mass (date and time to be determined) will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Greenville, WI, with interment in the parish cemetery. Details to be published in the local newspaper.
