Shirley Ann Beckfield

Beckfield, Shirley AnnShirley, known as Mac to childhood friends, was born in Glendale, CA on December 24, 1932, daughter of Russell and Dorothy (Pratt) McElvain, and married Grant S. Beckfield on September 21, 1957, sharing a beautiful life-long love. They resided in CA where many great lifetime friends and memories were made. A job opportunity for Grant moved them to Oshkosh in the early 70s. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was passionate about nature and animals (especially birds and horses), gardening, travel, and supporting many causes to save the environment. She provided her family with a lifetime of unending and unconditional love. Dedicating her life to family, her many friends, and those less fortunate, she volunteered at the Christine Ann Center, church, and various other organizations before her diagnosis with Parkinsons disease. She lived her last years fighting many complications with dignity and grace, and always had a sparkle in her beautiful blue eyes.Shirley passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015, surrounded by her family. During her last days, she received loving care from the Eden Meadows staff as well as hospice.Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Grant; children: Nancy (David) Hasenohrl, Laura (Ken) Doctor, Stephen (Becky) Beckfield and Scott (Lisa) Beckfield; grandchildren: Stephanie, Michelle and Thomas Hasenohrl, Alexandria, Grant and Russell Doctor, Craig and Roslyn Beckfield, and Kristen (Jamie) Grossmann; great grandchildren: Marisa, Spencer, and Brantley Grossmann.She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren: Stephanie Greiner and Joseph Hasenohrl.Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2016, at All Saints Lutheran Church (1072 Honey Creek Drive), with Rev. Kim Krogstad officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 11:00 a.m. Friday until the time of the service.
