Shirley F. Stapel, 76, of Oshkosh, died Thursday December 22, 2005 at her residence after a 14 month battle with ovarian cancer. She was born March 31, 1929 in Oshkosh a daughter of Henry and Frances Spanbauer Goerlitz. On June 10, 1950 she married William Stapel in Oshkosh.She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She was a Stephen Minister and a member of Warriors Drum and Bugle Corp. She worked as a bookkeeper for Bell Machine, Badger concrete, Williams, Williams and Meyer Law Firm, C. M. Manufacturing, and Hergerts Sports Center.She is survived by her husband William of Oshkosh, one son Craig (Linda) Stapel of Oshkosh, one grandson Jonathon, one sister Jacqueline(Carlton) Kind of Oshkosh, one nephew Brian Kind, one niece Darcy Kind, her dog Snickers many relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents.Funeral Services will be held on Monday December 26, 2005 at 5 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Jeffrey Knoll officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.Shirley is now at peace with the Lord.
