Stephanie T. Schwingel

Stephanie Schwingel (nee Talbott) passed away on June 7, 2022 of injuries related to a recent car accident. She was 81. She is survived by her three children—Laura Schwingel (Rick Sauer), Kathy Rosser (Geoff), and Bill Schwingel (Beth)—and five beloved granddaughters—Zoe, Emma, Anika, Maya and Robin, as well as her cat Bernie.

Stephanie was an avid bridge player. A Life Master of the American Contract Bridge League, she played often, and was the Director of three clubs in Oshkosh, Appleton and Waupaca. She also enjoyed cross-stitching, for which she had a real knack, as well as crosswords and jigsaw puzzles. As a long-time resident of Wisconsin, she cheered on the Green Bay Packers. Having raised her children in the Chicagoland area, however, she never gave up on the Chicago Cubs, whom she had grown to love and mostly suffer with. When she was younger, she liked to bowl, take her children camping, go bass fishing and rock climb.

Born in Helena, Montana in 1940, she was the daughter of Dorothy and William Talbott. She attended Montana State University, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. After college she moved to Wisconsin where she taught elementary school and became the mother of three. 

Her career path turned to business where she rose from administrative assistant to senior business executive.  Upon her retirement, she moved back to Wisconsin, where she lived the remainder of her days.
