Steve G. Raddatz, age 41, passed away on Saturday 23, 2009 as a result of an aircraft accident in Alabama. He was born on August 31, 1967, in Oshkosh. Steve graduated from Oshkosh West High School in 1986. After graduation he served four years in the United States Air Force, stationed at K. I. Sawyer AFB. On September 6, 1986 he married Gina Lewis and they were blessed with one son, Austin. Steve is survived by his wife, Gina Lewis Raddatz of Tuscumbia; their son Austin (fianc Melissa Miller); father Gerald Raddatz; brothers Randy (Dawn), Tim (Karlyn), and his grandmother Lucille Winters. He is further survived by his aunts, Diane (Bob) LaPoint, Pat (Roger) Baier, his in-laws, Don and Theresa Lewis, his sister in-law Sheila (Randal) Spear, four cousins, nieces and nephews: Brenna Spear, Emily, Gabrielle, Elizabeth, Parker, and Brennan Raddatz.Steve was preceded in death by his mother Judy (Winters) Raddatz. His grandparents, Rueben and Florence Raddatz, and his grandfather Gordon Winters.Steve was an aircraft builder and entrepreneur, owner of Hobby Town USA, Florence, AL. Steve worked at Wisconsin Tissue as a Millwright prior to moving to Alabama. He was also the former owner of the Waugoo Launderama and co-owner of Golf Central. Steve held numerous certifications and thrived at the challenge of obtaining them.Steve was a lifetime member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and Van Dyne Sportsmens Club, Hunter Safety Instructor, EAA Technical Counselor, and a member of EAA Chapter 615, Quad Cities Radio Control Club, Shoals Area Radio Club, and the Academy of Model Aeronautics.He was active in remote control airplanes, helicopters, cars, and trucks. He enjoyedflying, golfing, scuba diving, hunting, four-wheeling, downhill skiing, bowling, drag racing, fishing, archery, boating, motorcycling, 4x4 mud racing, skeet and trap shooting, playing and coaching soccer, broomball and paintball.
