Susan E. Dehne

April 9, 1955 — November 11, 2021

Susan Elizabeth (Udulutch) Dehne was born in La Crosse, WI to Charles and Eleanor Udulutch on April 9, 1955. She grew up in Richland Center with her brother, Steve, and her sister, Carol. Sue moved to Oshkosh in 1973, her senior year of high school.
Sue earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1977. Determined and focused in everything she endeavored to do, she successfully held management positions in retail, customer service, and sales. Sue made many lifelong connections throughout her career. She was deeply committed to doing right by the customer. Her career started as an assistant manager at Joe’s Sport Shop. She went on to work at Prange’s Department Store, Bemiss-Jason Corp, Alta Resources, US Bank, and General Beverage Sales.
Sue was deeply committed to her family and friends, her greatest source of joy. After marrying her soulmate and the love of her life, Scott Dehne, on November 8, 1980, they raised two wonderful, loving children - Amber and Michael - in Oshkosh.
Her infectious laugh and beautiful smile brought joy to every occasion. She loved to dance, enjoyed a well-planned surprise, and was energized by spending time with others. She was known to be a woman of many words; her conversations could pull you in and keep you laughing for hours. Sue made friends easily; she genuinely listened to and cared about the people in her life. She had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued, no matter how brief the interaction.
Sue cherished the many family vacations that she planned and was an avid camper when the children were younger. Some of her greatest joys were organizing get-togethers with family and friends. With a large extended family that she loved deeply, Sue always went out of her way to make everyone feel appreciated, welcomed, and loved. Many years were spent enjoying special times with her sister, Carol, and brother-in-law, Charlie, in Hayward and the Villages. Being “Grammie” filled her life with joy and meaning; she loved making memories with her four precious granddaughters, Mallory, Zarah, Aliza, and Callista.
When their journey brought her and Scott to Georgia in 2014, they enjoyed traveling, sightseeing and visiting historical sites in the southeast for nearly 5 years. She often described this precious time as their second honeymoon. In 2019, they moved back to Wisconsin to begin enjoying retirement and spending time with family.
Sue’s strong faith carried her through difficult challenges and provided her with strength. Surrounded by her loving family and friends every step of the way, she told us that she had no regrets. Sue was so deeply touched by the continued outpouring of love and support from family and friends. A most sincere thank you to her loving sister, Carol, who made the trip to Menomonie from Winneconne for all of Sue’s treatments. Thank you to all the care providers in the Mayo Health System for their dedication and compassion.
